Narva craftswoman on marshmallow floristry Feo Dora: I am inspired by fresh flowers
An enthusiastic love for the flowers of Anna Timofeeva, a master of marshmallow floristry, widely known on Instagram and Facebook under the name Feo Dora, spilled out in a hobby over the years, and then quite rapidly grew into a successful business. However, any business for which Anna took was always to her liking, and she was accustomed to all the same one hundred percent. The main thing that moves it constantly forward in life is the desire to surround itself with beauty.
From hacks-peregrin crusts to art peeling and flower marshmallows

And today, on its two-day workshops on the manufacture of this original delicacy in Narva come from Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Norway, Poland, Russia.
In the first profession and education Feo Dora is a tailor of men's clothing. With the birth of her daughter, she began to sew outfits for girls. “These were designer dresses that were transferred from hand to hand, because the children grow quickly and do not have time to bear clothes,” says the craftswoman. Then she modeled and sewed hats – caps, earflows. And having arrived in 1993 in Narva, she learned in the direction from the labor exchange for cosmetics, opened her beauty salon and worked in the beauty industry for 20 years. “I had 6 hairdressers, masseur, nail techniques, and solariums. I liked what I do – give beauty. At some point, I realized that I want to go further. I always wanted to create beauty with my own hands and get a feeling of joy when creating. ”
And Feo Dora took up baking bread – not simple, ordinary, but beautiful, designer – on bread were leaves, twigs, flowers made of dough. He successfully sold out, she conducted master classes.
– Once I saw on the Internet flowers from chocolate of incredibly thin work. I literally fell in love with them, found teachers with whom they discussed tools, ingredients, and a training program. But it never reached the case, I don’t understand why, ”says Feo Dora. -And here, art-peel and flowers from Zephyra came to my life (again from the Internet). Yes, this is how at the same time – dumplings and flowers.

– Do not think that all these “jumps”, switching from one business to another were easy for me. Each time it was large costs – financial, temporary and sincere – – shares Feo Dora. -Since childhood, I learned the philosophy of my mother, who often repeated that a person who runs from a profession to a profession, as a result, is not anything of himself, it is necessary to surrender to one business in order to achieve something. Therefore, in my soul each time was full of inflammation. But a close friend and children supported. And the final point in my inner dispute was set when I, engaged in a beauty salon, visited the business training and management at the famous Vladimir Tarasov. At one of the classes, he quoted the Chinese sages: « First you are looking for a way, and then the path is looking for you. »
« Flowers – endless inspiration »
– Frequent flowers are my love, passion, endless inspiration, medicine. In childhood, for the summer I was sent to my grandmother in the village. Every day I collected bouquets of wildflowers and every day congratulated it on birthday. My relatives called me “Anyuta Flower Tsveta,” Feo Dora tells me with a smile. – Now in the moments of tension or, on the contrary, I close my eyes – and there are always flowers in front of me, I see how the petals pierced by the sun are revealed. I study the work of my colleagues on the Internet, but it is not possible to repeat them. Although, it would seem, it’s easy – take and do it. No, only fresh flowers inspire me. Those that I see in nature, in my country house, in flower shops, bouquets in the market of grandmothers. I can endlessly look at fresh flowers. Although, of course, I study flowers in books, artistic albums. Friends send beautiful pictures and ideas of bouquets from a marshmallow from the Internet.
– Was there a desire to become, for example, a florist?
– No, it was not. Although, as you know, maybe it will still arise … Now my passion is a marshmallow floristry, the opportunity to create flowers itself.
The first six months, Feo Dora studied the art of marshmallow floristry in the Malinovka club on Instagram, then flew full-time courses in Rostov-on-Don and in distant Orenburg. And now he is constantly studying in an online environment.
Last year, Feo Dora also studied at the Narva School of Interior Design Avers. “The coloring course turned out to be supervised for my floral work. But in general, the acquired knowledge on interior design is right now – when I am repairs in my studio. By the way, I was very fascinated by the section on electrics, reading circuits, the selection of light scenario, lighting devices, ”says Feo Dora. (Well, again, you feel, it's all about beauty!)
Today, Feo Dora not only successfully sells bouquets she made from marshmallows, but also conducts his master classes on marshmallows. Not just have time to do everything, so children come to the rescue. The daughter helps to create printed products – certificates of the end of the training course, logo, stickers.
– Which flower is your beloved?
– I can't answer this question. All! The field thistle can be no less beautiful than the royal rose, ”she answers emotionally, but then, thinking, she adds:“ Perhaps the most beloved is still field cloves. ” Because she is from my childhood. And from marshmallows I really like to make hydrangeas and peonies.
Let's look at the creative cuisine
– In order to learn how to make such beauty, you need to, at least, be able to draw? – I can’t help but ask the craftswoman.
– Not at all. Probably you really want to. At the very beginning, most of the marshmallows are in the garbage bucket. “Place” special culinary nozzles that are inserted into a culinary bag. Then the bag is filled with marshmallows, and we put the bases – we can say the foundation for inflorescence (for different colors the basics are different. Hydrangea, for example, is a large ball, and a rose is a pyramid). And only after stabilizing the basics we put the petals on them, which make the flower so delicate and elegant. Despite the fact that during the master class the nozzle, everyone has the same, the flowers are different. First, we train on the usual cream, since the marshmallow stabilizes very quickly – within 10 minutes, and then you can’t fix anything, but it matures for a day.
– How long does it take to make one flower, suppose, a tulip?
– The main time goes to the preparatory process. Buy all the ingredients: apples, granulated sugar, agar-agar (geling substance like gelatin, but of plant origin, the most important thing in marshmallows) and so on, bake apples, make mashed potatoes, cook inverting syrup, prepare dyes … directly on the flower itself, an experienced master can spend two minutes and two minutes.
It’s good not the first time. When I studied, many colors treated her neighbors, friends and just sellers in stores to please.
Feo Dora says that today she conducts not only two-day master classes (cost 350 euros), but also courses on separate topics in the field of marshmallow floristry, as well as children's master classes.
– At the two -day course, we make hydrangea, peony, rose, chrysanthemum, lily, lilac, tulip. Someone can then specialize, suppose, only on peonies or tulips, but I want to teach everything to do everything, ”says Feo Dora.
– Is there a flower that you dream to be embodied in a marshmallow, but have not yet tried to do it? – I ask at the end of our conversation.
And I get an unexpected answer:
– Eat. But not in a marshmallow, but … in a gypsum. Recently, I have been very interested in the topic of bas -reliefs. It will take place on March 8 (now many orders), I will do it. I will make the first gypsum flower on the wall of my updated studio.
– Why do you have such a pseudonym on the Internet – Feo Dora?
– Because I like this name – Theodora. Inwardly it is very mine. And my eldest son is Fedor. And since Facebook must have a name and surname, I divided the name into Feo Dora. Friends call me just Dora.
