A naked man caused a lot of commotion on Sunday afternoon in the Stationsbuurt van Diest. The man first walked around in the area and then climbed in a tap on a yard near the station. The emergency services came to the scene to help the man, who left a confused impression, out of the tap.
Around 11 o’clock the police received a call from a witness who had seen the man walking around. « We were told by another witness that the man had entered the yard zone opposite the station, » explains Korpschef of police zone Demerdal Jan Konings. « Our teams went looking for that person afterwards. »
Intermediate platform
At first glance, the poodle -naked man was nowhere to be found. An alert agent could spot him after a while. « He had climbed a site crane and lay on an intermediate platform at a height of about 20 meters, » continues the chief of police.
The police notified the fire brigade, who helped the man from the tap. « He went without any problems and was transferred to the medical department, because no communication was possible with him. Now he is being checked for observation in the hospital. We are going to interrogate the man at a later time if he can give us more information. It could be a drug -related incident or a psychosis, but that must be apparent from the research, » said Kingings.(JVO)
