Nadasi myrtill was called by love abroad

  • Nádasi Myrtill was a beautiful actress who appeared in the sons of the rocky man
  • Initially played at the Comedy Theater, then moved to London and settled down there
  • He worked with many famous actresses and actors, such as Éva Ruttkai and Zoltán Latinovits

There was a huge career in front of the young Nadasi Myrtill, as the Comedy Theater was his second home by then, and he was able to work with actors every day such as Zoltán Latinovits and Éva Ruttkai. The sons of the rocky man were filmed in 1964, and the young actress still saw the show at home to travel to London in 1965, marry and start a new life. He has been living there since 81 years, with his husband Péter Sásdy, a happy marriage, sixty years ago.

It was a special beauty and one of Zoltán Várkonyi’s favorites. All of this took me to get to the Comedy Theater at 17 years. He was almost a child, signed by Ferenc Nádasi, the father of the famous ballet master. But anyone couldn’t call him a newcomer, because he was already a tiny girl at the age of 11, and as a partner of Mary Sulyok on the rewarding stage in a Soviet piece. It was a long time ago, but Nádasi Myrtill remembers everything, and even though he has been living in the English capital for decades, he has told the perfect Hungarians about his life.

Myrtill visited me several times, this picture was taken in Hungary

– I was preparing for Ballerina, went to a dance theater, and at the age of 10 I was on the Opera stage, but I became an actress. I was only eleven when I made his debut in Víg. I admit, at first I was very afraid of Mary Sulyok, she was a real grandmother with her deep voice, and then I would find myself in the dressing room once and get ready for the piece. He painted it, he adjusted my hair and stroked me before the stage. We were fine until his death. It may be strange what I say, but I became a comedy kid. I was regularly called to various pieces, and when they had signed a real contract with me at the age of seventeen, I was at home in this wonderful theater. I consider it a gift of life to play with the greatest actors. Éva Ruttkai was the diva, the number one artist of the theater, today they would say she was the biggest star. He helped me a lot. Like Zoltán Latinovits, who once made my husband in a Milan Kundera piece. They were told many times later when I sometimes returned home that a huge career would have been waiting for me at home. Maybe, but I can’t change that anymore. And I don’t mind anything, because when I flew to London in 1965 with a tourist passport, a man, Peter Sasdy, was waiting for me, who was married shortly afterwards, and fortunately I still hold my hand today.

The sons of the rocky man were already a huge success at the presentationand Zoltán Várkonyi’s masterpiece still fills viewers today. Nádasi Myrtill was the center of attention as a wife of one of Baradlay, and would probably have had serious roles at home. Still, he secretly packed, wrote a farewell letter to Zoltán Várkonyi alone, and then – went into the world.

– I was full of experiences I got at the Comedy Theater and the film. As a special gift, I was able to stand on stage by Latinovits, who couldn’t know when and why. Zoltán Várkonyi is indeed nurtured, primarily to him for being able to appear in the sons of the rocky man. He was the one who, at a certain scene, when the Habsburg soldiers disgraced, simply tear my blouse, to the great astonishment of the crew members and colleagues, and said that the scene is authentic. But Várkonyi was also the one who, after the first break, lasted about four weeks, saw in the corridor of the film factory and shouted in fright, « You were good, obese my diva! » He also had an eagle.

By the way, three years after my so-called dissident, I had come home as a British citizen. I was afraid when I was waiting for my passport at the sixth district police. But there was no problem, I could come back to London, where I have been living ever since. I was born two daughters, I have two grandchildren, and none of them really speak Hungarian. I never had a desire for home, only the Comedy Theater was missing. But that is very much. I played in English and American movies. I performed in London theaters, but I didn’t belong anywhere. But it would have been good to be a member of a company. Occasionally, we come home with my husband, who left the country in ’56 otherwise. We came to Budapest for ten years, when my book The Pirouets and Days was published and we came for a year and a half, when my dad’s head was in front of the memorial plaque on Song Theater Street. The biggest problem is that sometimes I look at my calendar and the names are there. Károly MécsTo Endre Harkányi and the others. They all died. Fortunately, my best girlfriend, Judit Halász is still alive. We talk to him often, and of course the topic can be nothing more than acting and comedy …-Nádasi Myrtill closed his thoughts.
