Myanmar: Dramatic situation after 7.7 Richter – Dig bare hands with rescue workshops

At least 1.002 people were killed and nearly 2,376 were injured in Mandaley, Myanmar after a 7.7 -magnitude earthquake that hit the country on Friday, according to the official junta announcement that has ruled the country by 2021.
Buildings were destroyed, bridges collapsed, roads retreated to large areas of Myanmar and due to communication problems and information -controlled information many believe that the actual scale of disaster has not yet been revealed.
The humanitarian situation in Myanmar, one of the ten poorest countries in Asia, was already dramatic before the earthquake with millions displaced by conflicts between the junta and resistance groups, with little access to basic needs such as medical care and food.

Dig with hands for survivors
Rescue crews were operating all night in Mandaley – the country’s second largest city – to locate alive under the ruins with a rescue team telling the BBC that they dug with bare hands as they do not have the necessary machinery.
« We’re trying to get the rest of the trapped people, but we need big machines. We still hear their voices, but we can’t know where they are, « said a Madeley rescuer who, along with his team, managed to save 50 people trapped under a high -rise building.
The military regime, on the other hand, does not appear to be falling for the largest earthquake that has hit the country for over 100 years and its devastating consequences, and continues attacks on areas controlled by the resistance, even those hit by Enceladus.
According to the people’s defense forces (PDF), the Military Council continued the air raids and drones attacks even in a village in the Shangaging area- a guerrilla stronghold- which measures extensive damage and victims from the earthquake.
The Union of South East Asia, China and India have announced that they will send humanitarian aid to Myanmar after the rare junta for international aid.

With rescue crews fighting a titanic battle and the relatives of the missing being on the spot, as long as the hopes of survivors are gone.
Early on Saturday morning (Greek time), rescue workshops said they found 15 people alive at a depth of 15 meters below the ruins.
As the building under construction collapsed like a card tower and continues to retreat, the work is very difficult and heavy machinery cannot be used at present.
The unfinished building has no water facilities, which makes it even more difficult for the trapped.

Afters
The 7.7 -magnitude earthquake that hit Myanmar on Friday released the energy equivalent of more than 300 explosions of individual bombs, a geologist told CNN and warned that the aftershocks would probably continue to shake the area.
« The power released by an earthquake like this corresponds to about 334 atomic bombs, » Jes Phoenix told CNN.
He also warned that aftershocks could last for two months, as the Indian tectonic plate continues to collide with the Eurasian plate under Myanmar.
