Musk’s mood goes on – the conflict with Altman deepens

The conflict between Elon Musk and Open AI chief Sam Altman is getting closer and closer to the court. A judge in California has decided that the Tesla owner may proceed with his lawsuit against Open AI, even though Altman tried to have the atmosphere written off before any negotiations.

Musk was one of the founders of Open AI and one of the major financiers who made sure the platform could be launched on a broad front. In recent years, however, it has cut between Musk and Sam Altman. The billionaires have openly criticized each other on several occasions.

It was last year that Musk filed a lawsuit against Open AI, Sam Altman and the company’s largest owner Microsoft. Open AI, who was a non -profit project at the foundation, had then announced a transition to a company with a profit interest. « A fraud, » according to Elon Musk.

According to the judge, Musk’s lawyers have presented « adequate arguments » that Open AI promised to retain its status as non -profit as well as the current structure of the company, and that this was done to receive continued contributions from the billionaire. Musk claims that the people behind Open AI did in this way to shoe themselves financially.

One of the persons in Musk’s legal staff, who spoke anonymously with Financial Timesdescribes the judge’s message as a « great legal success ».

Open AI today has a structure where the company’s board is unpaid and describes that the mission is to create a powerful artificial intelligence to « benefit all of humanity ». The reason that one now wants to turn to a profit -making company is stated to be that it would mean greater opportunities to raise capital from outside investors.

Several former employees has tuned into Musk’s criticism of the change and warned that the development of the tool will be driven by income -generating factors that do not necessarily benefit the public.

Open AI has struck back against Musk and claims that the mood is a tactical move with « evil intent », so that the billionaire himself can take control of the leading AI innovations.

Elon Musk has recently merged their AI venture Xai with the platform X and works to develop a similar service as Open AI’s chat GPT. Musk is said to have invested almost SEK 450 billion in the project.
