Musk -Trump Union: Mutual accusations and Tesla’s action drop
US tech billionaire Ilon Musk has announced that incumbent US President Donald Trump is mentioned in files related to the permanent financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This is the latest in a series of attacks between the two, whose relationship has dramatically deteriorated and escalating into a public altercation on social networks in the last 24 hours.
In a post on the social network X, Musk wrote: « @realdonaldtrump is in the Epstein files. That’s the real reason why they have not yet been published. Remember this post. The truth will come to light. » He then shared a video of Trump from Epstein’s parties.
He did not offer evidence of the claim. White House spokeswoman Caroline Livit dismissed the comment, saying: « This is an unfortunate episode of Musk, which is dissatisfied with the ‘great, wonderful law’ because it does not include the policies it wanted. The president is focused on the adoption of this historical law. »
Epstein killed himself in a prison cell in August 2019 while waiting for trial for trafficking in minors.
In another post, Musk attacked Trump’s customs, warning that they would « cause a recession in the second half of this year ». He also called for the creation of a new political party that would represent « 80% of moderate ».
Musk has announced that SpaceX will immediately begin withdrawing the Dragon spacecraft after Trump threatened to cancel government deals with his firms. Dragon is the only US spacecraft that can carry astronauts to and from the International Space Station.
The dispute caused Tesla’s shares to fall by about $ 150 billion, with a daily drop of 14.3 percent.
The exchange of accusations continued after Trump said he was « very disappointed » by Musk, whom he had previously called « strenuous » and claimed he had called him to step down as a « special government official », and abolished the obligation to compete with electric vehicles.

Trump also said he was « disappointed » by Musk over his criticism of the tax law, which includes tax relief from several trillion dollars and was brought by Republicans to the House of Representatives in May. Musk, meanwhile, called the law « disgusting ugliness » and announced that he had never been presented before « in the middle of the night » was passed.
