William C. (46) is currently in a coma on intensive care of the hospital after a suicide attempt. His lawyer Pieterjan Dens confirms that. The forties have been in jail since the beginning of April on suspicion of the murder of Anja Lievens (53).
The puzzle still had to be largely laid, although it now seems like there will never be answers. William C. recently undertook a suicide attempt in prison and that for the second time in just under three weeks. The 46-year-old man has been in prison since Thursday 3 April after the lifeless body of 53-year-old Anja Lievens was found in an apartment building along the Gulden Sporenlaan in Ostend.
The mother lived with her 19-year-old son in one of the apartments on the second floor. Anja and son were two hands on a stomach, because a father had not been in the picture for a long time. That evening Anja and her son had eaten stew together. There was no dirt in the air. But when the teenager woke up the next morning, his mother wasn’t there. Her bed wasn’t even cutting.

New hearing
A few hours later the heavy verdict came: Anja turned out to have been murdered, in the apartment building itself. Soon William C. came into the sights of the Speurders after he wrote a not too miserable message on one of the walls close to the crime scene. In that confused text, he first states « that he has had no opportunities » and seems to apologize for what he has done. The text shows that the man wanted to leave life after the facts committed. « I am coming, » he writes, turning a girlfriend who died last year. The man did not get out of life. He could be arrested three days later.
Lawyer Pieterjan Dens confirms that his client attempted a suicide attempt. C. would currently be in a coma in the intensive department of the hospital. « His condition is very criticism, » says Dens. C. would normally be heard again within two weeks, although it now looks like that will not continue. « For the rest, I don’t want to comment in terms of content. »
