Munich 2025: Oktoberfest beer prize increased again
The beer at the Oktoberfest is becoming more expensive again: between 14.50 and 15.80 euros, the measure (one liter of beer) at the « Wiesn » should cost this year, as the city of Munich announced. That is an average of 3.52 percent more than 2024. At that time, the liter still cost between 13.60 and 15.30 euros.
Alcohol -free drinks are also becoming more expensive: According to the city, a liter of table water costs an average of 10.95 euros (after 10.48 euros last year), special 12.48 euros (2024: 12.23 euros) and lemonade 12.11 euros (2024: 11.67 euros).
Host call prices, city checks
As the organizer of the Oktoberfest, the city checks whether the prices calculated by the hosts are appropriate. To do this, she compares them with the prices of large gastronomic companies in Munich. According to the city, they are currently demanding between 7.70 euros and 13.40 euros per liter of export.
However, there are also extra costs for the host at the Oktoberfest beer: it is brewed especially for the festival and is particularly strong with about six percent alcohol content. In addition, the innkeepers have effort due to the assembly and dismantling of the tents for the two festivals, and there is live music.
Wiesn hosts see « careful price adjustment »
Peter Inselkammer, spokesman for the Munich Wiesn host, spoke of a « careful price adjustment that was carefully weighed » and explained with inflation. « Price increases are never nice, even if there are good reasons for this. For example, that we want to pay our employees fair wages for their work, » said his host colleague Christian Schottenhamel.

Beer prices at the Oktoberfest have doubled since 2004: 20 years ago, the extent had cost between 6.70 euros and 7.10 euros.
The Munich Oktoberfest starts this year on September 20 and lasts until October 5th. It is considered the largest folk festival in the world and had around 6.7 million guests in 2024.
