Foreign Minister and Foreign Trade Minister Timco Mucunski said today that Macedonian foreign policy is always for peace compared to all conflicts in the world, and for the ceasefire resolution in Gaza at the United Nations General Assembly, the country has voted because of certain uncertainties in the text itself, which is not the case, which is not the same, Hamas.

-We want peace, all over the world, for all conflicts. Our foreign policy is so set and we give our own input as a small state for peace between Ukraine and Russia, we regret the development of the Middle East, we also want peace between Israel and Palestine. But when you see such a resolution, it has its own content and in terms of the content of any resolution we set our political attitude. In it you will see arguments, which are conflicting with the basic principles of international public law – said Mucunski.

He pointed out that there was no clear definition of Hamas in the resolution, what to do and how this organization works, which he said, for him, without a dilemma, is terrorist.
-In the same resolution you will see insufficiently clear definition of what Hamas is. For example, there is no doubt that Hamas is a terrorist organization that has killed the territory of Israel, but when there is no clear definition of Hamas’s actions, the organization, which was doing, we cannot stand behind such a resolution-Mucunski said, answering a journalist’s question today, which was adopted with 149 votes, 12 states voted against and 19 abstained.

He noted that Macedonian positions regarding any issue in the UN are seen through a prism to protect our interests.

« We are not against peace in Palestine, we want peace, because peace means prosperity, stability for our states and our peoples, but when one gives an assessment that I vote I recommend reading exactly why we voted abstained, » Mucunski added.
