Mucunski had a telephone conversation with Bulgarian Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister and Foreign Trade Minister Timco Mucunski today had a telephone conversation with his Bulgarian counterpart, Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev.
Minister Georgiev, as stated in the statement, informed the Minister Mucunski on the decision made by the Bulgarian Parliament, which concerns the country’s progress in the process of accession to the European Union.
In the conversation, Minister Mucunski reiterated the principled positions of our country related to the European integration process. He emphasized the state’s readiness to further enhance the cooperation with Bulgaria in the direction of building greater mutual trust, in the interest of the citizens.
-For this purpose, we are ready to continue with an active contribution to building confidence based on principles and mutual respect. As neighbors and NATO allies, the two countries have a common obligation, oriented to the future, to continue developing relations based on European principles-Mucunski said.
In this regard, Minister Mucunski once again emphasized our commitment to the European path, which, as he pointed out, should not be burdened with bilateral issues.
« The government is working on the reform agenda and the fulfillment of the Copenhagen criteria, which should be the only condition for the country’s membership in the European Union, » Mucunski added.
