Much more violations of police officers
The number of offenses in which police were either threatened with violence or abused physical violence while they were doing their job there were about 220 in 2024. There are 39% more offenses than the average offenses in the past five years.
This is stated in a report conducted by the Data Department of the National Commissioner of Police from the police record that mbl.is has. The data will return to 2007.
So far this year, issues of this kind are seen to be considered for the average issues each month.
The most violent in the South Sudanese
The report shows that the number of cases has generally been in the range of 10-12 per month, with the exception of 2007 and 2008, with an average of 14 and 15 cases a month.
In 2024 and so far this year, however, the average issue is about 16-17 per month.
It is also stated that by 2024, violence and threats to the police have increased most in the Suðurnes region compared to the last five years. There was no increase in the capital area.
Cases where police instructions were not obeyed were most in 2023 but were fewer in 2024 and their average is the case so far this year is similar to last year.
