Most pre -election campaigning was spent on LPV, JV and LZP / day

Leaders in terms of spending are « Latvia first » (LPV), « New Unity » (JV) and the Latvian Green Party (LZP).

LPV has signed contracts for EUR 332,953, JV – for 262,605 euros, LZP – for 217,623 euros, the Greens and Farmers Union – 155,862 euros, « The United List » – for 149,449 euros, « for stability! » – for € 135,550, for Latvia’s Development – 144,785 euros, « Platform 21 » – for 110 910 euros, « Progressive » – ​​for 113 143 euros, and the National Association for 106 765 euros.

« Harmony » has concluded contracts for EUR 68,872, the Latvian Association of Regions for 53,275 euros, but « Sarauj, Latgale! » – for € 46,556.

The other parties have concluded smaller amounts.

During the pre -election campaign period, each political force had a limited financial resource, as much as it could be used to place political advertising in urban environment, social media and elsewhere on the Internet, in electronic media, as well as charity, sponsorship and other positions. The expenses limits did not apply to the expenses for advertising or campaign planning.

Political organizations, which are the candidate throughout Latvia, were allowed to use up to EUR 869,640 for limited purposes. On the other hand, political organizations, which were only in one of the municipalities, were the maximum allowable amount of expenditure depending on the number of persons with the right to vote in the relevant municipality and varied from 4020 euros to 259,864 euros.

According to the information available to the KNAB, all political organizations have noticed the maximum amount they were allowed to use for to pay for limited campaign costs.

Information shows that political parties and their associations have spent nearly € 900,000 in campaigning, etc. in the urban environment. The KNAB points out that this has been the most paid position of limited expenses in other previous elections. The second most frequently paid position during the pre -election campaign period is the placement of materials in the radio of almost EUR 523,000.

At the same time, the KNAB recalls that 45 political organizations that had submitted candidate lists to the local elections must be submitted to the KNAB’s election revenue and expenditure declarations. The deadline for submission of declarations is July 7.

The KNAB also informed that five of the non -political organizations have spent 10,550 euros in the limited position of the campaign expenses, including the deployment of campaigning materials.

The KNAB points out that the amount of funds spent on the pre -election campaign and their compliance with the requirements of the law continues to be checked.

After receiving all declarations, the KNAB will verify the submitted accounting justification documents, compare the data submitted by political organizations to the information available to the KNAB and the information received, and to take other activities to assess the amount of funds spent on pre -election campaigning and compliance with the law.

Municipal elections took place on June 7. The pre -election campaign period begins in Latvia on February 8.
