He officially claims that he spent 500,000 euros for the campaign, which is the maximum allowed limit. So far it was not clear who financed Pellegrini’s campaign.
The campaign for half a million euros had to be financed by the voice chairman at that time. But while other candidates used a transparent account to see all the donors immediately, there were only two gifts from the party to 250,000 euros on Pellegrini’s transparent account. In addition, his team set his account to block receiving other gifts.
The party officially claimed that the campaign was funded by the gifts of sympathizers. But all the gifts went through the party account. It was non -transparent, because in such a case the party is obliged to publish a list of donors only at the end of the first quarter of the following year. So now, a year after the elections.
Among the donors are all leading voice politicians. The vast majority of gifts were EUR 5,000 or EUR 10,000. It was not spontaneous gifts, but rather a coordinated action inside the party.
The most generous donor was Radomír Šalitroš, first a rebellious voice deputy, now the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Computerization. He contributed EUR 55,000 to the campaign.
