More than just a team manager: the two passions of Claude Reder
It was precisely before this scenario that Claude Reder had warned against Düdelingen in a hard -won 29:28 win last Saturday: Because the team manager of the Red Boys knows that the HB Esch should never be underestimated – even if the team is not in the best line -up.
In the end, the Red Boys once again slept the initial phase on Wednesday evening. « The team simply does not manage to go into a game from the first minute. It was the case against Berchem, it was like this against the HBD again and especially now against Esch. We played a desolate first half and were not present at all. If we want to become masters, we have to put these things off quickly, » Eche Reder.
I suffer on the bench every time.

Red Boys team manager
Not only during the half -time speech by coach Nikola Malesevic had verbally clattered it in the cabin, but also after the overall disappointing 24:24 against a decimated but combative and mentally incredibly strong Escher team. « The body language simply lacked – and the necessary power, » team manager Reder criticized his boys.

Even after the tie, the Red Boys are still the leaders. Before the last three championship games, however, the different Berchem (34) and the HBD (33) sit on the neck. Claude Reder also knows that. President Patrick Reder’s younger brother had taken over the post of the team manager before Petrit Cakaj before the season.
From relegation candidate to the title aspirant
The former HB Petingen player, who moved to the Red Boys in 2003 and stayed there until his end of his career in 2010, can look back on 25 years of handball experience. Since 2013, the 47-year-old has also been active on the club’s board. During his first season as a player of the Red Boys, the club still fought against the descent. It was only on the last matchday that the league remained. A scenario that, from today’s perspective, is difficult to imagine. Because a season like 2003/2004 under coach Stefan Mina never went through the Red Boys again.

In the pre -season, the Differdinger became runner -up behind Berchem. This time you can dream of the next title. « The team plays very disciplined, has a great inner cohesion. This is remarkable because the team has learned to fight again. When matchday breaks are, the players train for themselves independently, » reveals Claude Reder, who lives for handball and always works for the concerns of the club and the player. « I am not important. It is the players to whom I pay all my attention. You have to implement the coach’s specifications. I suffer on the bench every time. »
In 2010 a cruciate ligament rupture ended Claude Reder’s career. That is why he also knows how important medical care is. Club doctor Nicola Zabotto will also take a closer look at the slight concussion, which has contracted back room Ace Brice Aillaud against Esch.
At the age of 41, Differdingen’s magician still conjures up
Reder himself drops by training once a week, talks to the boys and gives advice. In addition to handball, he has another passion. « I like to go and a lot, do several big runs a year. At Postlaf, I don’t have as little missing as with the ING half marathon. » Otherwise, the 47-year-old, who works as an engineer for a network operator, is almost only around the family in his free time-and the Red Boys.
