More than half of almost 40 thousand TV drivers are Portuguese

More than half of almost 40 thousand TV drivers are Portuguese

In Portugal there are almost 40 thousand drivers TVDE (37,495) to work and more than half, 53% are Portuguese. The information was shared this Friday by the Platform of the Institute of Mobility and Transport, Uber and Bolt, which went into operation a month ago.

In a statement, the platform reveals that in terms of nationalities follows Brazil with 21% and India with 10%. In total there are drivers of 98 different nationalities.

The overwhelming majority of drivers (90.1%) are male – 3,692 women behind the wheel of these vehicles – and almost 60% of TVDE drivers are between 30 and 49 years old.

As for the Auto Park in March, 34,447 vehicles were active, of which only just over 30% electric or hybrids. Most (66.9%) are combustion vehicles and about 60% are less than five years old.

These are the first data obtained through the Informatics Platform that will allow you to know more profoundly the sector, based on quantitative and qualitative data, ”says the president of IMT.

Quoted in the note, João Jesus Caetano considers that the sharing of these data opens « the way to a more informed, dynamic and robust supervision, also of great use in the context of the ongoing debate on the revision of TVDE sector legislation. »

The platform for sharing and communication of data on drivers, vehicles and operators of TVDE to operate in Portugal aims to be more informed and dynamic supervision of this sector.

Developed by the Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT), Uber and Bolt, the platform aims to reinforce the integrity of all agents operating in the TVDE sector.
