More than 33,000 visitors for Ghent Fantasybeurs Facts (Ghent)

This weekend the organization had 33,219 visitors at the pop culture festival Facts. « Despite the nice weather, we were able to count on many visitors. It is an increase compared to the previous spring edition. At that time there were around 32,600 people present, » says the organization. The visitors came to see some world stars or to take pictures in film sets.

There were some well -known names on the poster, such as Elijah Wood, which acted in ‘Lord of the Rings’. Evanna Lynch was also present, she plays the mysterious, blue -eyed blonde Luna Lovegood (Loena Leeflang) in the films of Harry Potter. « It is nice to see that young and old are still fascinating. There were long lines and at times there were too few chairs, » said the organization.

« There was also interest in heroes from our own country, » it sounds. Cartoonist Lectrr was there, and a new book by Marc de Bel was presented. Moreover, there was an exhibition by Jommeke, which framed within the 70th anniversary of the Flemish comic hero.

The Fantasybeurs Facts was started in 1993 as a small meeting of like -minded people in café Het Tonneke in Ghent. In recent decades it has grown into a ‘comic con’ according to an American example. The so -called ‘Comic Cons’ are a high mass of pop culture. Tens of thousands of visitors find their way to Flanders Expo twice a year.

The 42nd edition will take place on November 1 and 2 in Flanders Expo in Ghent.
