More interested parties in training for care
The training numbers in the Care rise in Hesse. This was shared by Senior Minister Diana Stolz (CDU) in Wiesbaden to a request from the parliamentary member of the state parliament Sascha Herr. In 2024, around 3,600 interested parties nationwide started training as a nurse – almost almost eleven percent more than in the previous year.
« With the increase in the flat rate of 6,387 euros to 6,930 euros per trainee, which has been in effect since October 2024, the state government has set an important incentive to take the geriatric care profession, » said Stolz.
Entry in nursing profession even without a secondary school leaving certificate
Since the school year 2020/2021, the project “Nursing integrated in Hesse!” For vocational preparation and training of geriatric care assistants in part -time forms. In particular, interested parties without a secondary school leaving certificate and with linguistic support needs should be facilitated to start the nursing profession, explained Stolz. Vocational schools, nursing schools and care facilities worked closely together here. Participants could acquire a secondary school leaving certificate and a first profession in geriatric care.
The background is the aging of society, the growing number of seniors in need of care and the shortage of skilled workers in old people’s homes. Combined with rising costs and bureaucratic obstacles, all of this Hesse’s retirement homes presents challenges.
