Monument protection does not have to be an obstacle
If a property is under monument or milieu protection, renovations and conversions are generally subject to approval. However, the federal states have relaxed their regulations regarding solar systems in recent years. The BHW Bausparkasse draws attention to this.
In order for the owner to receive approval for the installation, the solar system must meet the design guidelines. Among other things, this means that the solar system must be submitted to the roof area and usually installed as a closed surface. The main thing is that the overall picture of the house is not disturbed by the system. It is conceivable, for example, that modules are hidden in roof pans and absorb sunlight.
The responsible authorities can often give tips
The owners should clarify which requirements apply in detail with the responsible authority. According to the BHW Bausparkasse, you often get good solutions there on how the structural requirements can be implemented.
If you want to install a solar system, it is best to contact the local monument protection office. If the house is under milieu protection, the building or district office is responsible depending on the city.
By the way: A nice example of how a solar system can integrate on the roof of a historical building is that German museum in Munich. There, 122 photovoltaic modules were installed, which are frameless and color -coordinated on the green copper roof.
