Daniel Baciu, the head of the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP), spoke on Romania TV about the exact date at which the pensioners will receive the help of 400 lei. The official says that the money could enter the first day of April.
« We are talking about a normative act that supports certain categories of pensioners, who have income less than or equal to the amount of 2,574 lei. It is a financial impact of about 2 billion lei, money that comes from the state budget, not from the pension budget.
They are not related to the contributivity of any pensioner, it is simply financial support for these people who are eligible.
In the public pension system, in this category there are about 2.5 million pensioners, who will receive this financial support in the two installments, exactly as specified in the normative act. The first installment will be immediately in April, 400 lei, and the other in December.
It is an oxygen balloon for people with low income and it is important to impact a very large number of pensioners. We have to implement as quickly as possible, that is, we do those operations to consolidate the databases, so that in a timely manner we can print the pension heels, as on the first working day of April we can turn this money to our beneficiaries.« , Baciu said.
