A woman was denied the booking because she wanted to take her assistance dog into the wellness area of a hotel. According to a judgment, she receives 800 euros compensation.
Again and again they wanted to deny her access with the assistance dog, the owner says. The woman was supported by the « Klagsverband to enforce the rights of victims of discrimination » against the hotel. And she was now legally awarded 800 euros of intangible compensation because her booking had been rejected. The court was negligible that there are people with fear of dogs. For people with dog phobia, the mental stress in the wellness area is not higher than for people with other phobias. So « as men, for example, could be a considerable burden for victims of abuse and still have access to all areas, » said the court.
