Monastery gardens will be available to residents
– I am glad that we have signed this letter and together we will strive to make the monastery gardens, of which we have about 120 ha in the city, are systematically made available to residents – said Aleksander Miszalski, the president of Krakow.
The city and archdiocese committed themselves in a letter to organize the « Open Gardens » program. It will allow the inhabitants of Krakow to make green areas, which are in the responsibility of the parish, other church legal persons and their bodies subordinate to the authorities of the Archbishop of Kraków.
The second important issue raised in a letter of intent are green areas in the Prądnik valley, which are on the board of the archdiocese. The parties want them to be able to use them. The Witkowice plan is currently being prepared – the Prądnik Valley. The city is to present its proposals for developing these areas, and the Archdiocese of providing available areas in its management or its subordinate units.
– As an archdiocese, we will share our places. But we will also be a connector with religious orders and we will try to persuade them to open to the Krakow community – added Fr. Łukasz Michalczewski, canon of the RM chapter of St. Florian and Saint. John Paul II, economist of the archdiocese.
