Mom thought her daughter (4) was playing illness, and then the worst nightmare was realized

Girl Farihah, who is 18 today, told her story to British The Mirror. During the recent interview, an East London teenager said she remembered that one morning she suddenly felt a strange feeling in her leg.

– I felt like I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t lift my right leg, ”she said, adding that she remembered she was without energy and lethargic.

At first, her mother thought Malena was just trying to avoid school, but soon she realized that something was wrong. She took her to the doctor, who ordered additional examinations.

Farihah said that at the time, her nose was leaking from her nose and that she began to find bruises on her body, but she did not know how they were created.

– I would have a lot of wounds on my body, but I wouldn’t remember being injured or anything like that. They would just appear, come and go away. I also had nose bleeding, but these were not common bleeding, there were plenty of blood and it took time to stop. It would happen every other day, without any warning, ”Farihah said.

After a series of searches, Farihah and her family received the news that changed their lives. In October 2011, when she was only four years old, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as an acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

She told the British Mirror that news of the news of the news had hit her, but the word « cancer » didn’t mean much to her. She only knew she was sick and that she should be in the hospital.

She remembers feeling a certain relief when doctors finally found the cause of her problems.

She described her feelings at the time as complete confusion, but also in some ways relief, because she knew she would get treatment. She felt sick for a long time and thought nothing was repaired, but she was very calm, knowing that she was in a children’s hospital.

Farihah then began two -year treatment with chemotherapy at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She recalled that her hair had dropped three times and that she often had to use a wheelchair. She also said she was nauseous every day, and in some moments she needed a feeding probe.

Despite all the challenges, Farihah stated that she felt immensely grateful to her medical team and the caring hospital staff who helped her easier to overcome this difficult period.

Today, Farihah is free from cancer and hopes to enroll in a film study at a university.

– During my stay at GOS, I spent a lot of time watching movies, and the staff would sit with us in the ward and watch movies. As I grew up, my love for the movie grew – she told Mirror.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia affects a sponge tissue inside the bone where a bone marrow is created, according to the Mayo Clinic. Although the disease progresses quickly, it has a high survival rate in children.

The outcomes, however, are less favorable when the disease is diagnosed in adults, the clinic states.
