A deputy received 12 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 lei (about $ 28,000). He was found guilty of corruption and acceptance by an organized criminal group to finance a political party.

In May 2023, Nesterovsky left the Socialist Party and joined the Revival, which was controlled by the Moscow -hiding oligarch Ilan Shore.

On the day of the sentence, it became known that Nesterovsky had received Russian citizenship.
