Mitsotakis: We cover much of the energy from renewable sources
Meeting with the European Commissioner for the Climate, Zero Balance and Pure Development Bobke Houkstra today had the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
« We cover much of the energy from renewable sources. We produce a significant part of energy, « said Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The prime minister went on to say that « you have a wide portfolio and many issues to discuss. I realize that you already had productive meetings with the relevant ministers. But it is always my pleasure to meet you. I was thinking these days when the sun is in and the wind blows, energy consumption has not reached the high of summer, « the prime minister said.
Snapshot from meeting
« We have a lot to always discuss with progressive thinking »
He then added that « as you know we are advocates of the green transition, but of course we argue that we must ensure that it does not undermine the competitiveness of the European and the Greek economy, in particular on the industrial base. We have a lot to always discuss with progressive thinking, it is always good to meet representatives of European actors with whom we are not discussing the past but about the future. «
He finally stressed that « discussions about the past were made on issues that were painful. At least, now our agenda is more energetic and positive. And we want to contribute to a more general sense in European dialogue, these are complicated issues, but we are here to support the debate. «
Mr Hukstra emphasized for his part that « Thank you for welcoming me and doing a great job with the government. I can say that it is impressive what you have done with the economy, as is the connection to green growth and climate. «
