The Encouragement Award of the Selection Committee 2025
- Backing – – Performing Arts: A small, but a driving group of young performing artists took over the University Cinema in the summer of 2024 and launched a new performing arts forum, which was high in 40 events in times of sleeping theaters. There, both new and recent Icelandic plays were shown in combination with the resurrection and concerts, so that a broad group of performing artists were given room to work, develop and stage their ideas. Returning is a unique enterprise that corresponds to the call of a fruitful and rapidly growing performing arts scene.
- Lotta’s playgroup: For twenty years, Lotta’s playgroup has made a wide range of rural areas with their original children’s shows, filled with adventure joy and gals. Through their work, they have given children all over the country the opportunity to experience theater on green meadows and forestry in the local area, so more often than not their first theater experience will be intertwined with summer and nature. The contribution of the playgroup Lota to the cultural upbringing of Icelandic children is invaluable
- Sigríður Ásta Olgeirsdóttir: Last past year, Sigríður Ásta has stepped into the performing art scene with great power and has shown both initiative and artistic variety with remarkable results. She directed the operas a happy psychiatric game and did you have been trying to catch me?, Was a dancer and performer in Konacoppers, was in the musical role in the musical we are here, forgotten to be the author, producer and in the title role in the musical Dietrich.
