MIP: Instead of new mayors, Zadro (HDZ) and SDPs Mostarac and King come to Parliament
Due to the performance of the duties, IVICA (HDZ), Ivica Lukanović (SDP) and Tomislav Golubić (SDP), newly elected County-Srijem, Primorje-Gorski Koprivnica-Križevci counties, put their mandates. Bosančić will be replaced by Tomislav Zadro, the son of the Vukovar war legend of Blaga Zadar, Matej Mostarac, Mayor of Kastav, will come instead of Lukanovic, and Denis Kralj, Mayor of Vrbovec, will sit in the parliament bench. At the session, the MIP also activated and immediately put the term of office of HDZ’s Joseph Bilaver at his request.
Bilaver resigned to the post of State Secretary at the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure after becoming HDZ’s candidate for the mayor of Zadar, which stopped the incompatibility of duties with the MP, and submitted a request for activation and immediately to freeze the MP.
« This is not here that his election for the mayor of Zadar County is not yet final, » MIP President Robert Jankovics explained.
The MIP confirmed the activation of the SDP’s mandate Zlatko Komadini, the former Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, and his departure from his replacement by Zeljko Jovanovic.
He refused to remove immunity to MP Kristini Ikić Baniček (SDP) and Predrag Štromar (HNS) as requested by Prosecutor Šime Peruz to initiate criminal proceedings. The team continued his previous practice not to remove immunity when he was looking for a private prosecutor.
« USKOK rejected the criminal complaint that Peruza filed against Stromar and Ikic Banicek, it is a lawsuit against 40 people, » Jankovics said. The MIP decisions were immediately discussed on Friday at a parliamentary session, and they still have to be confirmed at noon at noon. The new MPs will then be sworn in.
