Minor girl is raped for years by father (38): « If sexuality with his wife was less, daughter became her replacement » (Herselt)

The court in Turnhout has given B. (38) from Herselt a major effective sentence of 9 years for the rape of his minor daughter. He is also relieved of his rights for a period of 10 years. The man is in custody.

The serious facts came to light in February 2024 after the daughter of B. and his partner told a friend what happened at their home. During a first interrogation on April 20, 2024, the father still denied all the accusations. A few days later he largely made confessions. His partner admitted that she had assisted her husband once during a rape, but denied guilty absenteeism.

Bathroom

The rapes started when the girl was 12 years old and, according to the couple, fried in the sex education of the girl. « The girl’s mother was aware of what happened. She let her partner commit, » the court said in the verdict. « The woman saw how her partner and daughter withdrew together in the bathroom and how they kissed and hug each other. The man even asked her partner what time she would come home, so that he knew how much time he had with his daughter. »

In the verdict, the court mentioned very serious facts where the man was only based on satisfaction of his own lusts. « He abused his position as a father. The facts also happened very frequently and from a very young age, » the court said. « If the sexual interaction with his wife was less, the daughter became her replacement. »

The girl’s mother, in turn, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison, half of whom with probation. She is also relieved of her rights for 5 years.
