Ministry of Demography: four million euros for kindergartens and playgrounds
Minister of demographics and immigrants Ivan Šipić He handed over contracts for 123 projects on Tuesday, worth around four million euros, intended to improve material conditions in kindergartens and for equipping and decorating children’s playgrounds in five counties.
These are projects in Lika-Senj, Istrian, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Karlovac and Sisak-Moslavina County. Sipic pointed out that the Ministry is currently funding a total of 638 projects across the country and thanking the local authorities for quality applications.
He emphasized that the problem of demographics should not be politicized and that the Ministry will continue to help all areas, no matter who is in power.
As for the child allowance, Sipic emphasized that analyzes are currently being done regarding a new law, which is expected at the end of the year.
Lika-Senj County Mayor Ernest Petry warned that Lika recorded more negative demographic trends than the rest of Croatia, and therefore larger investments are needed.
Gospic Mayor Darko Milinovic praised the increase in the newborn baby in his city and expressed his satisfaction that the number of newborn children was increasing for the first time in Gospic for the first time in Gospic.
He welcomed new measures of the Ministry of Demography, a special increase in the limit for parental leave, an increase in newborns and extension of paternal leave.
