In mid -April, the Public Prosecution Service announced actions against the pension benefits of the federal government. For example, they decided to send a letter to all convicts on a waiting list to go to the cell to immediately register with the prison. It is about 4,000 people, while the overcrowding in the penitentiary institutions is already reaching record highs.

Minister of Health and Vooruit Vice-Prime Minister Frank Vandenbroucke finds the arguments of the public prosecutors « not very convincing, » he said on Sunday in the seventh day. « We have to keep up the entire pension order, so an effort is indeed required of people with very nice pensions. I have very little understanding, but really very little understanding, for the action of the public prosecutors. »

Vandenbroucke does understand the criticism of the judiciary on the underinests in the judicial device, he emphasized. « But that is precisely the reason why this government is investing in justice despite savings on all fronts, and not little. »
