Minister Anusic announced the connection between Croatian and Polish defense companies from Warsaw
Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anusic met on Thursday with Polish counterpart WladdySlaw Kosiniak-Kamyszem in Warsaw, with which he agreed to cooperate with Croatian and Polish defense companies, the Ministry of Defense announced in a statement. « We have concretized important steps for our future, primarily in the field of defense and security. In the next two months, we expect a visit to the Polish Minister of Defense to Zagreb, where we will sign a letter of intent and raise our cooperation to a higher level of connecting our defense industry, » said Anusic, who is on an official visit to Poland.
The meeting, at which ministers confirmed the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, said Anusic as extremely quality.
« The Croatian and Polish people share many common values and we want to send this message of community from today’s meeting, » Anusic said.
The Minister especially praised the progress of Poland as far as defense was concerned, saying that « the Croatian people with great respect view the Polish people and their ability to become a serious military force in the short term, aware of danger and responsibility. »
Anusic warned of the need for joint preparation and response to « danger and threats coming from the east » and pulled the parallel between the Homeland War and today’s security challenges.
« Today’s situation reminds me of the 1990s, when we also had to defend our own independence in the war in 1995 as winners. I hope that no people will no longer have to go through such experience, but we must be ready, » he said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz thanked Croatia for « excellent defense cooperation, which is manifested in contributing to NATO missions and operations and pointed out that Croatia and Poland share joint safety goals and values, » the Croatian Ministry of Defense said.
