Minimum temperature record in Romania
The temperature dropped in the town of Joseni, on Sunday night, until minus 13.4 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature record for this time in the calendar being shot down.
The service meteorologist from the Transilvania-Sud Sibiu Regional Meteorological Center, Cristina Blaga, told AGERPRES that in Joseni the previous record of the night on April 6 to 7 was registered in 1978 and was minus 10.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the website of the National Meteorological Administration, in Joseni, on Sunday, the coldest of the low areas was only registered only in the mountains.
And in the other localities of Harghita county there were negative temperatures, on Sunday night.
At Miercurea-Ciuc, a minus 9 degrees Celsius value was registered, at Toplița were minus 8.9 degrees, at the Bucin Mountain Station, a temperature of minus 12.6 degrees, and at Odorheiu Secuiesc were minus 4.7 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist Cristina Blaga said that these temperatures were registered due to a cold air front with northern circulation, and the forecast shows that throughout the week in Harghita County will be recorded negative values during the night.
In Harghita it snowed on Saturday night towards Sunday and laid a layer of snow in several areas of the county.
