Podravka’s Passata is made exclusively from 100% fresh tomatoes produced in Croatian fields-from Istria, Slavonia, Medjimurje, Varaždina to Podravina. Every fruit that matures in the fields is part of the story that continues in the kitchen.

This year, Podravka entered the new season with an ambitious goal: to produce more than 40,000 tonnes of tomatoes, which is 25 % more than the year before. This growth is the result of close cooperation with more than 20 Croatian subcontractors, which are carefully cultivated in their fields by tomatoes for Podravka’s products.
From the field to the bottle within 24 hours
One of the biggest benefits of Podravka’s Passata is its freshness. Tomatoes are processed within less than 24 hours after harvest, which retains its full taste, natural color and nutritional value. In the new Podravka plant in Varaždin, which processes up to 1,000 tonnes of tomatoes daily, the fresh fruits are gently converted into a dense, velvety passat without additives, added salt or sugars.

Recipe for homemade gnocchi by Sorentine
You need: olive oil, garlic pod, 2 mozzarella 125 g, for cherry tomatoes, 500 ml tomato passatafresh basil, salt, pepper, 800 g gnocchi, 70 g of parmesan
Preparation: Put the olive oil into the pan and sprinkle the whole clock of garlic in it to smell. Cut the mozzarella into cubes and put them in a strainer to drain as much liquid as possible. Cut the cherry tomatoes and add to the pan and sow. Add the passato and cook for a few minutes. Finally, salt and pepper and add the basil.
Then turn the oven at 200 degrees, preferably to select a program with ventilation. Meanwhile, we cook gnocchi. Add them to the sauce and mix. Shake half of the mozzarella and parmesan and mix. Transfer everything to a pan that is suitable for use in the oven, spread the rest of the parmesan, mozzarella over the top and add a little torn basil. Place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
