Mickoski: Women are the « engine » of social change
At the 20th annual Conference of the Union of Women of VMRO-DPMNE, held today in the City Park in Skopje, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski noted that women are the foundation of society, carriers of struggle, endurance and change.
– Women through the times were the engine that focused, persisted through all storms and turmoil. Today, when I look at what number and what energy we are here, it is clear that the idea is still alive, and the motive greater than ever- said Mickoski, emphasizing the key role of women in building state and social processes.
In his address, he expressed a deep respect to every woman who with wisdom, will and enthusiasm contributes to the future of the state.
– Macedonia must succeed. And those wins must happen every day, centimeter per centimeter, step by step, to fight for our future incessantly- the prime minister said, noting that this fight is common and that every woman is part of that process.
Mickoski expressed his gratitude to President Zaklina Pesevska and all members of the Women’s Union, stressing that their commitment, activity and engagement was based on policies that strive for a better future for the state.
The conference, which brings the motto « Women Running for Macedonia » this year, emphasizes the two decades of commitment to the Union in the fight for the rights and representation of women in political and social life.
