Mickoski: We can criticize ourselves, but for key directions we must build a culture of unity and consensus
At the meeting with SDSM leader Venko Filipce we discussed the construction of a national consensus on key issues. We can criticize ourselves for areas for which there should be room for criticism, but when it comes to key directions, we must build a culture that will mean unity and consensus. I expect other political parties if they request a meeting, to propose the same, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said.
The meeting discussed the eventual involvement of SDSM representatives in certain reform processes, which are part of the reform agenda and the growth plan, as well as to build a national consensus, when it comes to essential issues.
Regarding the eventual involvement of SDSM representatives in certain reform processes, Mickoski tonight in Alfa television, said that in general this process should be inclusive.
– SDSM had been part of the government for seven years. There have been certain processes that have been taking place in the past, such as amendments to the Criminal Code carried in the Assembly with abuse of the European flag. I see no reason not to include, as well as others who want to be involved with their own ideas, in the direction of real reforms- said Mickoski.
In terms of building a national consensus, when it comes to essential issues related to the present and the future of the state, Mickoski said that no matter what all differences in the parties, it is important to sit down to discuss key topics.
-This is something that as a politician is very important to me. Let’s also sit on the key topics to agree and not have dissonant tones afterwards. We can criticize ourselves for areas for which there should be room for criticism – bad performance in the economy, someone has abused something .. But when it comes to key directions, we must build a culture that means unity and consensus. I expect other political parties to ask for a meeting to propose to them. When it comes to key issues, we all be united and build consensus. Filipce said that there is an understanding of our various views on constitutional changes. Here we have a principled attitude, he knows our arguments- said Mickoski.
He pointed out that it appreciates that such a meeting reflects a message of unification, especially on key issues.
-I am praised that with this meeting we will send a message that we politicians have learned the lesson and that we should reflect a message of unity, unity, especially on key issues and through different optics to see things when it comes to this type of issues. At the same time, in the conditions of traar, to the specific emotional state of the population, to send a message that politicians do not communicate with low passions on a daily basis and politics, but we can show width – added Mickoski.
Asked how this future cooperation will be seen on the ground, Mickoski clarified that a SDSM representative can make his own remarks on the content of a certain draft law.
-We are in the process of drafting several laws, which are part of the reform agenda that refer to the judiciary. In the days to follow, I will have a thematic meeting with the Ministry of Justice and the people involved in the process. I do not see why, when a working version is completed, and a representative of SDSM not to make his own remarks. The Law on Energy has passed through the government procedure. They can also have an impetus here, if they appreciate that the content can be improved- said Mickoski.
