Mickoski: The chance of the small peoples to survive is in unity and wisely to find the interests of the big players on the political scene

Saints Cyril and Methodius, the brothers noble in heart and mind, left us the greatest gift – the letter, the word, the voice of our identity. Today we celebrate their work, the work of our first teachers, lighthouses of Slavic literacy and the foundation of our spiritual and cultural independence. This was stated by the Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, addressing the solemn academy that was held at the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius at the Cathedral Church of St. Sophia in Ohrid.

As he pointed out, the value they left us and here’s more than a millennium is our lighthouse through all the storms, through all the challenges and animals we climb… Mickoski even pointed out that that struggle for the right to our own voice, the right to our spirituality, is the basis of the Macedonian centuries -old struggle for independence, identity, and national.

-Their mission continues through every student who learns to read, every writer who creates, every knowledge teacher. They are not just past – they are a centuries -old bridge to the future. Today, when our people are facing new challenges, when the world is trying to define and explain us, it is precisely their mission that reminds us who we are – he said.

Mickers, referring to what he said, the simple controversy of who are the holy brothers, whose they are, to whom they belong, without seeing the big picture, said that it is so insignificant compared to the question of whether and how much we apply their messages, words and vows they left us.

« I will never get into such an indispensable rhetoric, because we must not undermine ourselves and we know who we are, and what we are created, » he said.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to remind the role of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, as one of the strongest ramparts of our people, the mother, as he said, of our spiritual growth over the centuries, our shelter and the strongest proof of our existence.

– Every blow to our church is a blow to Macedonia, after our existence and being. Each of us should guard the Church, respect and fight to contribute as much as possible with unity and knowledge to win the topics important for our future. And this behavior should be equally inside and out, both for those in the swing and outside it – he said, pointing out that such should be the attitude towards all our fireplaces that are the confirmation of our existence – and to the oldest University of St. Cyril and Methodius, and to our Macedonian Academy of Sci. to our people and state.

The Prime Minister on this occasion noted the need for unity, saying that « we are not too much to double, and we are not too strong to divide. »

– I want to refer to two topics that are essential to our existence. The first are external attacks, blockades and denials that have been facing a state for more than 30 years. They are aimed at clarifying the foundations of our existence. First of all, a flag, people, anthem, language, culture. We have to be aware that many do not make our being in this area happy – he said.

He pointed out that as a man and as the President of the Government he is very calm, because he says, I know who I am, I know who we are and what we are.

– And such denials should not be disturbed, because in the global world of larger and smaller, stronger and weaker, it is a natural process of proof. The smaller peoples are left to play wisely and steadily. And in terms of denials, they and everyone else in the original writings that are exposed to ten meters from the place of my speech will be received. With the original manuscripts of one of the many ‘great’ for our people, Gjorgjija Puleski, one of the first to emphasize the existence of the Macedonian nation and language two centuries ago. Next to those manuscripts, there are originals from the writings of Krste Petkov Misirkov who said every nation has the right to create their own literary language, and that right belongs to the Macedonians. Today we need to determine – whether we want to be a people with our own uniqueness or will we get lost in other people – he said.

As for the topic of domestic turmoil and, as he said, « in -running ways » before the outside pressures, the Prime Minister pointed out the need for uniqueness in the positions of all.

-Imagine a position where we will be unanimously, unanimous of the most important issues, something that has not happened for these 30 years. Imagine a position where we will not be divided into external factors, we will not fall into their eyes through the math of counting pro -Western and pro -blood cells, where we will use all the chances that the history of joining great processes at European and world level. Imagine a position where the government and the opposition will act solely, we will have no internal recesses, where every political actor, its weaknesses and non -supportive people will not complement through populations before the international factor. I have to say that the fate and chance of the small peoples is to find it in a wise way in the interests of the great players on the political scene. That is the only way we can survive. And those in the opposition must also be remembered when they attack the Strategic Partnership Agreement with the United Kingdom – so they say the debt would have grown due to investment, so the lie that migrants would be worn, just to make a political point for themselves. Simply put, both in historical and in every other sense is not worth such rhetoric, and harms the state – he said.

Imagine where we would be now, he added, if we made strong patches with our Western friends 30 years ago, if we were not shared in all years, we did not argue for the strategic goals and made friendships that would benefit all citizens. Don’t go farther, look at some of our neighbors who had such an approach, they went further and stronger, because they caught and seized them, says historical chances.

In order, as he said, to step forward, it is necessary to build state and national unity and reach out and crucial consent to the most important issues for the homeland.

-The unity does not mean to be the same, but to be together in our differences. My efforts as a person who has the responsibility to lead the government is to solve as many problems as possible, but also to achieve unity for the state. My message is to mobilize every creative potential for the common future to act wisely and with great energy for change. To recognize the importance of the momentum to have an agreement and consensus on the future of the state – he said.

He pointed out that diversity is not a weakness, but a power, that the country whose citizens whose citizens stand by one another – not for fear, but because of the common hope, not because they must, but because they believe in the common future.

-Our history is a testimony to what we can achieve when we are united. In the most difficult times – when we were pressured, divided, and even when we were stripped of the right to speak in our own voice – we were always raised through unity. Today, unity is not only required on the barricades or in defense – but in everyday life. In the way we talk, we solve problems, where we build our country. To be a nation that is not afraid of difference, but hugs it. A people who know that only by joint steps can move forward, the prime minister said, noting that there is no greater patriotism than unification for the benefit of all, for the homeland – said Prime Minister Mickoski.
