The Prime Ministers of Macedonia Christian Mickoski and the United Kingdom Kir Starmer today in Tirana agreed on a strategic partnership agreement between the two countries. The two prime ministers estimated that the agreement would mean even stronger co -operation, stronger relations and the opportunity to deepen relations.

– I am glad that we had the opportunity to talk at this bilateral meeting. This is very important to us. We have a strong relationship between our two countries and the fact that we could sign this intergovernmental agreement, I think it is of great importance and that shows that we will solve many things between the two countries. This is a really great opportunity and I look forward to this bilateral meeting and the bilateral agreement. I think we have a lot to do together and with this we will only progress. I hope we can work even more together, with your country and deepen the relationships we have – said Starmer at the meeting with Mickoski.

Macedonian Prime Minister Mickoski also expressed his pleasure and gratitude for the signing of the Startal Partnership Agreement with the United Kingdom.

– I am really excited to work together, which our two countries will be able to work together. We are allies in NATO and with this intergovernmental agreement I am sure that we will have even greater baggeral cooperation, we will strengthen our ties. This will improve and share the experience of the United Kingdom in this part of Europe. I think the Balkans is a really inspiring place and I wish you a much stronger role in that part of Europe – Mickoski said at a meeting with Starmer, held as part of the European Political Community Summit in Tirana.

The strategic partnership agreement between the two countries is the result of months of intensive negotiations between diplomatic and expert teams on both sides. The agreement, assessed as historic, will open new prospects for collaboration in key areas such as security, economics, investment, education, digital transformation and climate change. This is an agreement that positions Macedonia in the wider circle of interests of one of the world’s leading powers. It is a concrete and long -term commitment to strengthen bilateral ties with the United Kingdom, government sources say.

By signing the agreement, Macedonia will gain access to British expertise, financial support for reform and opportunities for British investment in strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure and innovation. In addition, the cooperation will also include enhanced political dialogue, as well as coordination within international institutions and global security challenges.
