Mickoski: Sports success must be valued throughout life
Prime Minister Christian Mickoski and Minister of Sport, Borko Ristovski today presented a national recognition to the most successful Macedonian athletes for top team sports.
In his address to the winners of the recognition, Mickoski said that an injustice was uttered and that the ambassador athletes receive the deserved respect for what they have represented Macedonia around the world for years.
The awards of national recognition for top sport is more than formality.
– This is an act of deep, sincere and deserved respect. Recognizing a life feat. To people who didn’t look for anything and gave everything. People who have turned their dreams into results and results in national pride. With this decision, the state establishes a new principle-that top sport success must be valued not only in moments of euphoria, but also throughout life. That is why these accolades are life -long. It is a concrete expression of respect and gratitude, not symbolism – said Prime Minister Mickoski.
He pointed out that in the future the state must not forget anyone who brought glory and honor, and promoted it.
– The state that does not appreciate its heroes is slowly losing its soul. These 22 awards are just the beginning. The beginning of a new policy, a new system of values, in which sports are not just a competition, but a template. Because if sports teach us something, it’s that nothing comes overnight. That successes are the fruit of long and heavy paths. And that is why we are here today-to correct the state before those who have long deserved this honor,-added Mickoski.
Mickoski urged young athletes to mirror our top stars proven on the international stage.
– This recognition is not only a reward for the past, but also a message to the future. For all the young talents that are at a crossroads today!
