Mickoski and Filipce with messages to Ahmeti
Prime Minister Christian Mickoski today urged Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) leader Ali Ahmeti to learn and instead of threatening to go out on the street, focusing on structural reforms in his party. Ahmeti’s statement was also commented on by the leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), Venko Filipce. He said the right to protest is a constitutionally guaranteed right, but does not think it should be abused for political purposes.
Mickoski advised Ahmeti, « if it is wise as it is present », make program and personnel changes, offer new characters and a new program to restore citizens’ confidence.
The prime minister’s reaction comes after Ahmeti’s statement that he would go out on the street, especially if former Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi was accused.
-I have heard that briefing of Ahmeti and based on that I can draw two conclusions, the first is to give one advice, and that is to look at the future, not in the past. Unfortunately, Mr. Ahmeti seems to live in the past, because if he lives in the present, he will be able to make a huge material difference between the past and the people of the past and the present in which he is in opposition, and there are many millionaires around him who have been enriched on the back of Macedonian citizens.
The prime minister reminded that in less than five months the campaign for local elections begins, which will show which political parties, mayors and councilors deserve the confidence of the citizens. The results of these elections will be crucial to the decision to give early parliamentary elections.
« Citizens will say which political party deserves the confidence, and which does not, which mayors and what advisers, and on the basis of those results we can further conclusions whether there will be early elections or not, » Mickoski said.
Filipce said the right to protest is a constitutionally guaranteed right, but does not think it should be abused for political purposes.
Filipce added that the party had already begun the process of talks and finding partners for the next period, for the cycle of local elections and snoring that some of the negotiations were gradually being rounded up, others lasted, and others were yet to begin.
DUI President Ali Ahmeti said two days ago that if the Economy Escinister Kreshnik Bekteshi is accused of the tragedy in Kocani, he will go out on the street and will not return until it provokes local elections with local elections. He pointed out that at any moment as a joke he could take out 10,000 DUI supporters to protest every week.
