Prime Minister Kristen Mikhal (Party of Reforms) said that the new coalition, in which only reformists and Eesti 200 remained, intended to cancel the enterprise income tax in the profit tax, writes from January 1, 2026, writes Err.

“The first thing we plan to do is to cancel various tax increases, including income tax on enterprises. We will prepare the appropriate bill, ”Kristen Mikhal said at a press conference on a change in the composition of the coalition.

“Another desire is to reduce the tax burden on individuals. The income tax was supposed to be charged from the first euro since the following year, but this will not happen. Income tax will increase to 24%, but it will not be charged from the first euro, ”Mikhal noted.

The changes will also entail the abolition of a number of taxes that have already been legalized. For example, taxation of enterprises will be canceled. “Entrepreneurship should be able to develop,” Michal emphasized.

The goal is also a reduction in tax burden for individuals, which means that individuals will not be taxed from the first euro, as provided for by law at present, writes BNS. “We will return to a simple income tax system, that is, the taxation of individuals will remain the same as now,” Mikhal said.

As for the amendments to the Constitution, then, according to Michal, their goal is to make the upcoming elections be the last in which non -citizens will be able to participate, and that the citizens of Russia and Belarus could no longer vote. This means that in the future, owners of gray passports will also not be able to vote.

As for security, Michal assured that the direction of the new ruling coalition has not changed, that is, it is a priority.

According to Mikhal, the reform and Eesti 200 party will also draw up a new coalition agreement that will be devoted to security and economics, as well as distribute ministerial posts.
