Messoni season in India early

The monsoon rains reached the coast of the southernmost state – Kerala, in India on Saturday – eight days earlier than usual, the Indian Meteorological Service reported.

This is the earliest onset of the rainy season in 16 years, which promises a rich harvest and relief from the exhausting hot wave.

The monsoons, which are vital to the India economy, amounting to $ 4 trillion, carry nearly 70% of the rains that the country needs, to irrigate and to fill the aquifier soil and tanks. Almost half of the Indian agricultural lands that have no irrigation facilities depend on the annual rains that are raining from June to September.

Summer rains usually start first in Kerala the state around June 1, before covering all over India until mid-July, allowing farmers to plant crops such as rice, corn, cotton, soybean and sugar cane.

The start of southwestern monsoon rains over Kerala State on May 24th is the earliest since 2009, when the start of the season was given on May 23. According to meteorologists, the first rains covered Kerala and parts of the neighboring state of Tamil Nada and Karnaka, as well as some areas of the northeastern part of Mizor.
