Merz must not gamble the special fund
Friedrich Merz it gave it himself: with the 500 billion euros in special funds on Pump, he has taken out a loan to his credibility among the voters. In the election campaign the CDU-Id boss still insured to comply with the debt brake. This promise then fell in the preliminary talks to form a coalition with the SPDThere was no sign of resistance from the CDU leader. The break was the price of power. Merz should be careful not to lead the creditors of his politics – i.e. the voters – just a few months after the first deception. The billions from the special fund must not become a money pot, in which conservative and social democrats reach in order to finance everything.
The billions from the special fund may not be cheered for election gifts
The statement by the Ministry of Finance to the other ministries for the establishment of the budget shows that doubts about this cash register of trust are appropriate. When it comes to government investments in bridges, rails and highways, the decisive word « in addition » cannot be found. It is said to make sure that the extraillions actually come to the already planned editions for modernizing the infrastructure. If this does not happen, the debts rise without people having anything permanently. The economy recently pointed out that the huge investment program can strengthen the growth forces. But the money also has to be fully invested and does not be fully composed of election gifts.
The Greens have behaved state
The Chancellor also does well not to burial the Greens. You have made the special fund possible through your approval and provided the condition of the additional nature. And they helped Merz in a difficult hour after his own people had failed in the first ballot. The Greens have proven to be a state. And the coalition needs it again when it comes to the election of new judges at the Federal Constitutional Court.
The special fund and the new debt exemption for the upgrading of the Bundeswehr gives the coalition the financial scope to completely overtake the rusted country. The prosperity, which of course seemed under former Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU), is not secured. Merkel did not do anything for growth, her successor Olaf Scholz (SPD) too little. This was also due to the fact that he no longer had the necessary money after an action for the Union’s budget. Friedrich Merz has got this money and now the duty to make something out of it.
