Merita Sundays: Invisible harmony and sound adventure this week at Kolarac – Culture
In the continuation of the Cycle Congratulations of Camera Music Merita Sundays in Kolarac, this week, 6 April, the young String Quartet Athens from Spain and Desguin from Belgium.
In the magical space of Foya Kolarac, the project is expected by the project that explores the depths of musical communication, overcoming physical barriers like visuals, and opening the path to a pure musical experience, as well as combining different musical works and experimenting with acoustics and light effects.
Young Spanish artists from the quartet Athens Through the project, an invisible harmony explore the transformative power of music in connecting people outside visual interactions, focusing on the experiences of the community of damaged vision. The goal is to raise awareness of non-visual communication and a deep relationship between blind and music, moving borders outside traditional concert formats.
The concert depicts the main theme through the performance of works that emphasize musical communication between performers, including Bartok’s third quartet, Britniv Three Divertiments and a special order adapted to performed with blindfold.
The Dvorak project down the rabbit hole of the Belgian Quartet Desguin It offers new Dogma reflection « Theater should happen here and now », when musicians, based on the material from the Dvorak’s quartet, improvise and combine individual parts of other music works.
Also, during the concert, they experiment with acoustics, changing places, and all these are improvised light effects and additional sounds that are broadcast through a loudspeaker, which makes all performing completely different and unique.
Merita is a European platform that brings together young strings of quartets, cultural institutions and historical facilities, providing opportunity for international cooperation and mobility of artists. Through innovative concerts and artistic residences, the platform promotes European cultural heritage and allows young musicians to explore new approaches to classical music.
Merita is financed through the European Creative Europe program and includes 17 partners from 12 countries, including Kolarac’s endowment one of the partners from Serbia.
The concert cycle of Merita Sundays started 30. March 2025. When the concerts of the new Crete Quartet were held in Greece and the Quartet Modulor from Switzerland, who performed innovative programs, created as a result of cooperation with the European Chamber Music Center Proquartet.
Within the concert cycle, Merita Sundays on Kolarac 27. April expects the performances of string quartets from Italy Indaco and EOS.
