Mercenari for Congo and in the court of May

The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Interior Bogdan Despescu said on Thursday that following the checks carried out so far an eight gendarmes and three policemen would have signed contracts with security companies that have been active in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

‘At the level of structures within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such verification was ordered. (…). We do not have a final result at this time, the results are dynamic, the respective results for us are very important because, depending on the findings, certain legal measures are ordered, and we speak here of certain situations that come in the criminal liability area and therefore in such situations we will make notifications. I also made such notifications to the parquet bodies. If yesterday there was a certain number of notifications, today I can confirm that from the level of the structures there were made three notifications regarding three cadres that, outside their service, during their free time, leave, have carried out such activities. Other eight cadres are in documentation. The 11 cadres come from the Romanian Gendarmerie and the Romanian Police. At the end of this verification activity, depending on the findings, other notifications, if not, other internal measures, will surely be ordered. There are eight gendarmes and three policemen, « said Bogdan Despescu.

The Ministry of National Defense announced on Wednesday that a number of 466 reserve soldiers, who come from the institution, signed, after passing into reserve, contracts with security companies that have been active in the Congo Democratic Republic.

Also, the quoted source says that seven soldiers in activity that were on the child -raising leave carried out, unjustifiably, activities in Congo.
