MEPs want an immediate suspension of all Hungary EU funds
MEPs from all pro -European parliamentary groups sent a letter to the European Commissioner for the budget on Wednesday, demanding the immediate suspension of payments for all EU funds for Hungary in order to force Prime Minister Viktor Orban to comply with European law and values.
The deputies, including the only Bulgarian, is Radan Kanev (EPP/DSB), express fears that the money from the European budget can be spent incorrectly and sinks due to the widespread corruption and violations of fundamental rights.
« That’s enough! It’s unacceptable that we are still sending European funds to a corrupt regime. It’s time to stop all funds, » Green MEP wrote in X.
The signaturers include the rapporteur of the European Parliament for Hungary Tineke Stick, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on budget control Niklas Herbst and the co -chair of the parliamentary intergroup for the fight against corruption Daniel Frend, Chloe Ridel and Michal Vavikevic.

The ever-despicable Orban is expanding its attacks
The EU has blocked EUR 18 billion funding for Hungary under the regulation, which binds the allocation of funds to the rule of law, under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and under the EU Funds Management Regulation.
