The central criminal police suspect a member of the board and employee of the ösel House Oü (now called Weinsto Caring BWTC Oü) in fraud and deliberate bringing to insolvency, the police department reported on Wednesday.
Men who had now engaged in a bankrupt company, in 2022–2024, promised customers the construction of turnkey modular houses. According to the evidence collected at the moment, they took money from customers, performed initial work, after which the victims paid the following amounts stipulated by the contract. However, further the company did not fulfill its obligations under the contract.
According to the head of the Bureau for the Investigation of the Economic Crimes of the Central Criminal Police, Ivo Raudheiding, by preliminary suspicions, the accused spent the company’s money on other purposes. “The funds were used for personal purposes and issued in the form of loans related to them not leading business activities. Men had to understand that in such conditions the fulfillment of contractual obligations is unrealistic, but continued to conclude contracts with new customers and take money from them. According to reports, their actions caused to customers property damage by almost two million euros, ”Raudheiding said.
As the district prosecutor in cases of economic and corruption crimes of Leo Zeamaa noted, any business should be honest and transparent, since this directly affects the competition and justice of the market environment. Diapxes harm not only the reputation of the company itself, but also undermine confidence in the whole sector. Therefore, the investigation of such crimes and the establishment of truth is of key importance. “It is especially regrettable that possible illegal actions are associated with the construction of modular houses-a sphere where each built house can become someone else’s future housing. Firms should always remember that their activity directly affects real people and their well -being. Now many have invested their savings in the company related to suspicions in the hope of building a house for themselves, but, unfortunately, their expectations did not live up to, ”she added.
Ivo Raudheiding also emphasized that before spending large amounts, it is necessary to study the company’s background – whether it is reliable, and what is the experience of its previous customers. “A simple check can help avoid fraudulent schemes and save money and nerves,” said Raudheining.
Pre -trial proceedings are conducted by the Bureau for the investigation of economic crimes of the Central Criminal Police under the leadership of the district prosecutor’s office in cases of economic and corruption crimes.
