Meloni after meeting with Zelensky: Russia has a substantially demonstrated will to peace
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Italy Prime Minister George Meloni held a meeting in Rome on April 26.
This is stated in the report of the Italian government, reports « European Truth ».
It is noted that during the meeting, the leaders confirmed their support for US President Donald Trump’s efforts aimed at achieving a fair and long peace that will provide future security, sovereignty and freedom for Ukraine.
On behalf of the Italian Government, Meloni expressed his condolences to the victims of recent Russian attacks, confirming his decisive condemnation of such actions and emphasizing the urgent need for immediate and unconditional ceasefire, as well as the need for a specific obligation to start a peaceful process.
« The Prime Minister has congratulated Ukraine’s full readiness for immediate ceasefire. Now, Russia is also expected to demonstrate its will to peace, » the statement reads.
It is known that before the funeral of the Pope in Rome, a meeting of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and his American colleague Donald Trump took place. The meeting took place against the backdrop of US pressure on Kyiv in the process of attempting to put an end to the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Zelensky stated that in his meeting with Trump is the potential to become historical. The White House also called the meeting Very productive.
