Melon: Called Trump to Italy – Jay Di Vance in Rome for Easter
Georgia Meloni said Donald Trump accepted her invitation to a formal trip to Rome, as the two met in Washington in an Italian prime minister’s attempt to bridge the gap between the EU and the US in the midst of tensions.
Mellon said that Trump’s journey could become « in the near future » and could give him the opportunity to meet with other European leaders.
« My goal is to make the west again, » Meloni said.
Trump told the Oval Office on Thursday that Melon « is doing a fantastic job » and that he has « conquered Europe », adding that he « has become a girlfriend ».
Trump and Meloni had earlier expressed their optimism about resolving the EU – USA. The EU is confronted with 25% import duties for steel and aluminum and cars, as well as wider duties for almost all other goods, in the context of Trump’s policy to hit countries that, he says, set high barriers to US imports.
« I am sure we can make a deal and I am here to help with it, » Melona said before meeting with the US president.
Trump said in general he expected he would make a statement on trade agreements, but he was not in a hurry.
« We will have a very small problem in making a deal with Europe or anyone else, because we have something we all want, » Trump said.

In Italy Jay Di Vance – will meet with Melon
US Vice President Jay Di Vance is visiting Italy today and will spend the Easter holidays with his family in Rome and the Vatican as part of a one-week trip that will be completed with his visit to India, according to RES-EIA.
Vance will be in Italy and the climate has intensified into transatlantic relations due to trade duties and war in Ukraine. During his visit he will meet with Italian Prime Minister George Meloni.
On Easter Sunday, Vance will attend the Divine Liturgy at St. Peter’s Basilica. Vance may also meet with Pope Francis. Pontiff has limited his public obligations after the passing pneumonia and which kept him in the hospital for five weeks.
However, he may attend a scheduled meeting between Vans and with the second in the Hierarchy of the Vatican Cardinal Officer Pietro Parkin.
Franciscus has criticized Trump’s massive expulsion policies and has called on the Catholics – including Vance – to respect the inherent « dignity » of all people.
The second round of indirect talks between the US and Iran for the Tehran nuclear program is expected to take place tomorrow. It is not clear if Vance will take part in some property.
After staying in India, the US Vice President is scheduled to travel to India early next week. His wife is of Indian descent. Vance is expected to have talks with Prime Minister Narendra Monti, who is projected to dominate the tariff issue.
