Meinl-Reisinger telephoned with US Foreign Minister Rubio-Diepresse.com
The Austrian Foreign Minister spoke with her US office colleague on the way back from Ukraine about possible cooperation at the West Balkans and also invited Marco Rubio to Austria.
Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger (NEOS) spoke on Friday with her US colleague Marco Rubio. The focus of the call was the importance of transatlantic relationships as well as security and defense, especially with regard to peace in Ukraine, stability at the Western Balkans, the role of OSCE and Vienna as a place for diplomatic negotiations, the APA foreign ministry then said.
Meinl-Reisinger spoke to Rubio while she was on the way back from Ukraine. She also reported to the US Foreign Minister about the meeting of numerous Foreign Minister in LWIW, it said. According to the Ukrainian information, 35 top diplomats had traveled to LWIW to advise on the further support of Ukraine to the Russian aggressor.
Invitation to Rubio to Austria
Both foreign ministers also discussed what the further cooperation could look like at the Western Balkans. Meinl-Reisinger also recalled the important role of the USA for peace and reconstruction in Austria and all of Europe after World War II and invited Rubio to visit Austria.
According to the Reuters news agency, the US State Department said that the foreign ministers had discussed « the possibilities for further expansion of direct business investments ». In addition, there was also talk about cooperation in industrial products with a double purpose. (APA)
