Mega Stories: Stories of Maternity

Hopeful choice for people and couples who want to have a child or maybe a new form of reproductive exploitation that toolizes fertility problems and desire to perpetuate the species? The Mega Stories opens the folder of surrogate motherhood and sheds light on the visible and invisible aspects of a complex and much -discussed issue.

Gifts Anagnostopoulou meets two women who chose to experience the process of surrogate pregnancy: the mother looking for the child who could not be pregnant and the surrogate mother, who was offered to give her. The two women speak openly about the motives, worries, expectations and deeper emotions that accompany a life relationship.

The legal and moral framework that surrounds surrounding motherhood, among those who treat it as the highest act of humanity and those who see it as reproductive exploitation, is analyzed by the Associate Professor of the Law School of the EKPA, who has been involved in the issues of Bioethics which focuses on both the Greek and the international legal framework.

The obstetrician-surgeon gynecologist Vasilis Koufomichael describes the medical reasons and the conditions that lead a woman to the choice of surrogate pregnancy, explaining in detail every stage of the process. At the same time, psychologists Zaira Papaligoura and Maria Souropani illuminate the psychological footprint of experience in both mothers and the child itself.
