Mega Stories: Greek Summer Stories
In the backyard of summer the Mega Stories travels to Paros to record the frenzied development of one of the most beloved and popular Cyclades islands for tourists, to hear the hope and the anxieties of the residents and to learn firsthand the issues and concerns of seasonal workers.
Can tourism development and well -being of visitors come together with the quality of life of residents and protecting the natural environment? And do the Greeks fit into the new model of tourism development and the high costs for the popular holiday destinations?

Dora Anagnostopoulou brows the island by Parisians who have chosen to root in their place and resisted the sirens of the large urban centers, talks to hotel owners and beach bars, as well as young people who have chosen to work there during the summer season. He meets the orthopedic surgeon of the local medical center, who is experiencing the pressure of services firsthand, as well as a fisherman who has been an eyewitness to the fundamental changes that time has brought and imposed by the tourist « explosion » of recent decades.
The Mega Stories captures the pulse of preparation just days before the culmination of the tourist season and ends up increasing reflections on excessive growth, infrastructure pressures, lack of housing for workers, environmental burden, costs of daily life.
